TEST ONE

The worst polluted water still considered ''bacteriologically acceptable for treatment" by a water treatment plant may contain up to 200,000 colonies/ liter of coliform bacteria.

Villanova University ran water containing nearly ten times this amount - 1 8 million colonies/liter - of typhoid fever (salmonella typhi) bacteria through a General Ecology XRS cartridge and obtained complete removal. (See test summary above).

	Culture plate of heavily polluted water before being purified had 1,800,000 colonies of S. typhosa.		Culture plate of same water after purification by SEAGULL IV had no organisms detected.
	4500X Electron Scanning Micro Photo* of E. coli bacteria.
